Meet Jana: Our Latest Model August 25, 2015 09:09

When choosing girls to model for our line we always like to pick someone who represents Bailey Blue! That is someone who loves wearing our dresses, has an amazing positive attitude, and a fresh outlook on style. Our latest model is Jana, a friendly and spirited down to earth girl that grew up in Albany, California. We asked her a handful of questions about how she started modeling and what it is that she loves about Bailey Blue:

Where are you from originally?

Originally I am from Albany, a small town in Northern California close to Berkeley, but my parents have now been living in San Francisco for about 4 years.

How did you start modeling?

For a while I entertained the idea of modeling but didn’t know how to start or if it was something I could really do. A few years ago when I was living in Orange County, I met a girl at my apartment and she encouraged me to pursue it. She introduced me to the agency she was with, set me up with some photographers to test with, and just showed me the ropes. I slowly started booking jobs and then decided to move to LA to pursue it full time!

What is your typical day?

My days vary a lot, but typically I will have one of or a combination of shoots, fittings, and castings. I also try to make time to workout and hang out with my roommate or boyfriend. Some days are busier than others so it’s tough to get into a real routine, but that’s also what I love so much about modeling. Every day is different; I make my own schedule, and am never bored!

If you had a plane ticket to one country right now where would you go and why?

If I had a plane ticket to one country right now I would go to Greece. I have always wanted to go there and Santorini specifically (ever since I saw “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants)! One of my good friends just got back from there so it has been fresh in my mind. She had such great things to say about it and her pictures were breathtaking.

Who is your style inspiration?

My friends are my style inspiration for the most part, and I also love Cara Delevingne’s style because she’s spunky and always mixes it up! I admire anyone that just owns their style and particularly someone who can rock a unique, varying, and edgy style.

What was the last trip or adventure you went on and what did it teach you?

My boyfriend and I went to Alaska about a month ago, which was full of adventure. My trip to Alaska reminded me that you don't need to spend money to enjoy yourself, especially when you are in such a beautiful place. I think we often get wrapped up in material things and always staying connected on our phones, emails etc. that we sometimes forget to enjoy the beauty around us. It felt liberating to not have cell reception at times and just be in the moment. Being in such a peaceful and naturally beautiful place was refreshing and restorative.

What is your favorite thing about Bailey Blue?

My favorite thing about Bailey Blue is that the clothes are cute and affordable, a great combo! I like the way the clothes fit and how you can dress up or down most of the styles.
